El viernes pasado pasé una divertidísima noche en el estreno de Sexo en Nueva York 2 y ¿adivinad qué?! Para aquellos que todavía no hayáis visto la película, no os preocupéis, no voy a desvelar nada importante del argumento, sólo una cosa: ¡el apartamento de soltera de Carrie ha sido reformado por completo!

Ya sabéis que Carrie está felizmente casada con John (más conocido como Mr. Big), y viven en un nuevo precioso apartamento juntos. En la película Carrie explica que, dado que no es el mejor momento para poner una casa en el mercado, la pareja ha decido quedarse su viejo apartamento para utilizarlo en los momentos en los que necesiten un poco de espacio y tiempo consigo mismos. Carrie en ocasiones vuelve a él para escribir... y ¡madre mía! ¡Qué increíble cambio ha dado su viejo apartamento!

Last Friday evening I spent a great time in the premiere of Sex and the City 2 movie and, guess what? To those that haven't seen the movie yet, don't you worry, I'm not going to reveal anything important about the plot, just a thing: Carrie's old apartment has been totally renovated in this movie.

As you know, Carrie is happy and married to John (also known as Mr. Big), and they live together in a stunning new apartment. In the movie Carrie explains that, due to the bad time to put a property in the market currently, the couple decided to keep her old apartment to use it when they need some space and time with theirselves. Carrie sometimes goes back there to wright and... OMG! What an amazing change, her old apartment is completely new!

Seguro que os morís de ganas por verlo, pero primero comencemos por recordar como era el antiguo apartamento de Carrie anteriormente.

No cabe duda de que un decorador se ha pasado por allí, pero ¿qué queda del viejo apartamento informal y desenfadado de Carrie? ¡Absolutamente nada! Las paredes grises han sido pintadas de azul, se han eliminado los viejos radiadores y no queda un sólo mueble de Carrie. Sofas tapizados, cabecero de piel, muebles lacados y de espejo, nuevas alfombras y hasta un televisor enorme de pantalla plana. ¡Ni siquiera recuerdo que Carrie tuviera televisor en su viejo apartamento!

A mí personalmente me gustaba mucho su antiguo apartamento, pues, aunque solía estar un poco desordenado, tenía un toque muy personal, informal y funcional. En el nuevo apartamento habría que entrar descalzos (y ya sabemos lo poco que le gusta a Carrie desprenderse de sus Manolos). Estoy de acuerdo en que el antiguo apartamento había quedado desactualizado, y no cabe duda de que esta reforma lo ha convertido en un lujoso hogar, pero ya no queda nada del viejo apartamento de Carrie, y no parece haber sido decorado por ella en absoluto.

No doubt, a decorator has been there, but where is Carrie's old apartment, so informal and free-and-easy? Nothing, absolutely nothing! The walls have been painted in an elegrant blue, the old heating has been removed and there is no a single piece of Carrie's furniture. New sofas, leather headboard, lacquered and mirror furniture, new carpets and even an enormous flat screen television. I don't even remember that Carrie had any television in her old apartment!

I personally liked her old apartment very much because, even though it used to be a bit untidy sometimes, it had a personal touch, informal and functional. You should go into the new apartment barefoot (and we already know how much Carrie dislikes to come off her Manolos). Ok, I agree the old apartment was already quite outdated, and no doubt the renovations make it a luxurous new home, but there is nothing of Carrie's apartment, and it doesn't look to have been decorated by her at all.
