EN | Today I'm commencing a new series of posts called 'Décor School'. Through this new series interior designers and industry professionals will give us style master classes. Today's guest is Eva Stephen, interior design writer. Her master class on how to decorate with hot pink and cool green will challenge the most adventurous interior designer. <div style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(208, 208, 208);"></div> EN | Hello everyone. This is Eva Stephen here and so nice of Rosa who gave me an opportunity to talk to her readers. I always like to experiment new and sometimes strange things in home styling. Please do share how you found my new ideas in the comments box and you can also talk to me at <a href="https://plus.google.com/u/0/100921486993177124232" target="_blank">GOOGLE+</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/EvaStephen1" target="_blank">@EVASTEPHEN1</a>.  Feeling adventurous? Looking for ways to give your home a new, extraordinary look? Experimenting with pairs of colours that seemingly don’t go together is something you might want to consider, because unusual and visually stunning choice of colours for walls, furniture and decorative pieces is a wonderful “trick” that freshens up a home without having to invest a lot of money in it. 'Stealing' ideas from nature  Consider hot pink and cool green as your décor inspiration. You might not think them such a great combination at first, but why not? Think about it. Pink and green wonderfully complement each other in nature. <div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=3043902004081400145" name="0.1_graphic05"></a></div><center></center> <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHjpxv4y2xY3UKiEUR4IgY6jajmU0oclbdXbcV5d9MsCyA5YXeQg6zKwY0SzJaC1ObT3Xm6aRedkLALLPZsBRyw5kbhrwOJ7qMVzA9IS5BRC7Dk0J18V7BpY1H7SIi63AAbWgd-2aSEUw/s1600/Rosa-y-verde-Pink-and-green-ChicDec%C3%B3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHjpxv4y2xY3UKiEUR4IgY6jajmU0oclbdXbcV5d9MsCyA5YXeQg6zKwY0SzJaC1ObT3Xm6aRedkLALLPZsBRyw5kbhrwOJ7qMVzA9IS5BRC7Dk0J18V7BpY1H7SIi63AAbWgd-2aSEUw/s1600/Rosa-y-verde-Pink-and-green-ChicDec%C3%B3.jpg" /></a></td></tr><tr align="left"><td class="tr-caption">Fotografía | Photography: <a href="http://www.carolyngallo.com/" target="_blank">CAROLYN GALLO</a> <div style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(208, 208, 208);"></div></td></tr></tbody></table>The soothing green and the lively pink are, in fact, a dream pair. With the image in mind, you can go ahead and think of ways to reflect this vision in your home. The most obvious place for pink and green  Since children’s room is the best place to parade happy colours, this is your safest choice to test this combination. Painting one wall pink, and other three green is one way to go about redecorating your kids’ space. Another is to find interesting looking pink and green wallpapers, or to have all walls the same green colour, and then put up posters with wonderfully intense pink background or have a pink <a href="http://www.rugs-direct.com/kids-rugs" target="_blank">RUG NEXT TO YOUR CHILD'S BED</a>. <div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=3043902004081400145" name="0.1_graphic06"></a></div><center></center><div style="text-align: center;"><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBR0WXvkpwBhRDqcLaymTpgleTurbFzRLoI6Aqk2SARjb_fzzZsmHJ87iETDbiBQCjGOBuq3hUyP6vFr2adhjMVDHts71Aqy2FpGxR8S3F2nl6tG1nPDQ0bAERqE1aQUqufMS6a-EqEKo/s1600/Habitaci%C3%B3n-ni%C3%B1as-rosa-verde-pink-and-green-girls-room.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBR0WXvkpwBhRDqcLaymTpgleTurbFzRLoI6Aqk2SARjb_fzzZsmHJ87iETDbiBQCjGOBuq3hUyP6vFr2adhjMVDHts71Aqy2FpGxR8S3F2nl6tG1nPDQ0bAERqE1aQUqufMS6a-EqEKo/s1600/Habitaci%C3%B3n-ni%C3%B1as-rosa-verde-pink-and-green-girls-room.jpg" /></a></td></tr><tr align="left"><td class="tr-caption">Habitación de niña en rosa y verde | Pink and green girl's bedroom, <a href="http://www.iroonie.com/cozy-girl-room-lovely-pink-decoration/cozy-girls-room-decorating-ideas/" target="_blank">IROONIE</a> <div style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(208, 208, 208);"></div></td></tr></tbody></table><a href="http://img.hgtv.com/HGTV/2011/04/28/DP_frank-pink-childrens-room_s3x4_lg.jpg" target="_blank"> </a></div> Of course, if you are not too careful, you can go over the top with these two demanding colours. The real skill is to find the right shade for each colour, and to find the right balance between the two. You can even have one colour, for example green, dominate the room, and then just add one small detail in pink. That would look very effective and stylish. See <a href="http://chic-deco.blogspot.com.au/2010/08/una-monisima-habitacion-para-ninas.html" target="_blank">THIS PINK AND GREEN GIRL'S BEDROOM</a> as an example. The colours of your imagination <div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=3043902004081400145" name="0.1_graphic07"></a></div><center></center>If you trust your imagination and creativity, decorating your house in hot pink and cool green can be a fun and successful activity. Get your partner, children or friends to help out. Think about subtle, yet obvious and visually pleasing ways to light up your home. Consult magazines, blogs and other sources of cool interior design ideas. Some of the things that can look very nice “refurbished” in pink and/or green are: <ul><li>Picture frames</li><li>Rugs</li><li><a href="http://www.blindsuk.net/ready-made-curtains.html" target="_blank">Curtains</a></li><li>Plant pots</li><li>Decorative bottles or vases</li><li>Table cloths</li><li>Door frames, window frames</li><li>Lamps</li></ul><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=3043902004081400145" name="0.1_graphic08"></a></div><center></center><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiubuky_I2DJUpIMV27WmXMG63aZtBjmjtULVo5tSYG3v9jkaHdahFCj799BOOmqLTonsW3yWA6LKWHzSxN8-2ZyEYsLmvcN08_LMRsFGS5Z_ZDrnLncL3s4toYQcvdwoPxpjzfLr5Wluo/s1600/Dormitorio-rosa-verde-Green-pink-bedroom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiubuky_I2DJUpIMV27WmXMG63aZtBjmjtULVo5tSYG3v9jkaHdahFCj799BOOmqLTonsW3yWA6LKWHzSxN8-2ZyEYsLmvcN08_LMRsFGS5Z_ZDrnLncL3s4toYQcvdwoPxpjzfLr5Wluo/s1600/Dormitorio-rosa-verde-Green-pink-bedroom.jpg" /></a></td></tr><tr align="left"><td class="tr-caption">Elegante dormitorio en rosa y verde | Stylish pink and green bedroom, <a href="http://indulgy.com/post/QFmpgi6v41/pink-and-green" target="_blank">INDULGY</a> <div style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(208, 208, 208);"></div></td></tr></tbody></table> Finding the right balance is key  As mentioned before, the real challenge in decorating your home using bold colours is to stay within the limits of good taste. Since hot pink is everything but subtle, think about how it would affect you in your study, where you are supposed to work, or in your bedroom, where you need to rest from your daily obligations and stress. Maybe cool green is a better choice for larger surfaces, and hot pink is better for small, attention-grabbing details. <a href="http://www.shop4furniture.net/" target="_blank">VISIT HERE</a> for stylish<a href="http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=3043902004081400145" name="0.1__GoBack"></a> collection of bedroom and dining room furniture. Also, repeating the green-and-pink pattern throughout the house might give your home a circus-like appearance. Having one room coated with this happy pair is enough, but you’re more than welcome to repeat the pattern in all other rooms using only a few details: a photo frame, a vase, a sofa pillow, etc. There are other fun colour combinations like purple and light gray, orange and dark blue, but if you’re willing to experiment, hot pink and cool green should definitely be your number one choice. <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7_ZgbW3RPqZ5pGEiX8_gbH5AZm0SN9lc4vi-d0r-47wKRip-_FQeD2dcYPaUUS3AEiSRj3jGq0LSmy-Ybnw8W7TxEtvFUKgAFcAeI9GZ6Zmy8LD9aNZROoTWgauQh8SxjThn4keRE9hI/s1600/Rosa-verde-inspiraci%C3%B3n-home-decor-pink-green-inspiration.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7_ZgbW3RPqZ5pGEiX8_gbH5AZm0SN9lc4vi-d0r-47wKRip-_FQeD2dcYPaUUS3AEiSRj3jGq0LSmy-Ybnw8W7TxEtvFUKgAFcAeI9GZ6Zmy8LD9aNZROoTWgauQh8SxjThn4keRE9hI/s1600/Rosa-verde-inspiraci%C3%B3n-home-decor-pink-green-inspiration.jpg" /></a></td></tr><tr align="left"><td class="tr-caption">Ejemplos de combinación rosa y verde | Hot pink and cold green combination examples. <table bgcolor="#f0f0f0" cellpadding="20" style="border: 1px solid rgb(230, 230, 230);"><tbody><tr><th><div style="text-align: left;">About the author This guest post is written by Eva Stephens, interior design writter.
